The BBC cameras were in for a treat as City beat West Brom at Ashton Gate to the dismay of many. Danny Haynes' pace tormented Joe Mattock all afternoon and it was him who would have City's first chance hitting the sidenetting following a surging run. High flying West Brom however took an expected lead when Graham Dorrans was put through following an interception from a Marvin Elliott error, Dorrans shot went in off the post as the doom and gloom seemed to return for City. David Clarkson had half chances as City started to come into the game towards the end of the first half.
The second half saw a bright start and the persistence was awarded when on loan striker Chris Iwelumo scored from close range from Louis Carey's knockdown to bring it back level. Danny Haynes then went on another jinking run before sliding the ball along the six yard box where Lee Johnson was on hand to side foot home just 4 minutes after Iwelumo's goal to turn the game completely round. Iwelumo and Haynes went close to a third goal as City pushed forward and tried to kill the game off
West Brom struggled to make an impact in the second half. The impressive Haynes was forced off with a hamstring injury to be replaced by the also Ivan Sproule as City held on for 5 minutes stoppage time to secure a impressive victory
