Jamie McCombe Expected To Join Huddersfield
Bristol City defender Jamie McCombe is expected to complete a transfer to Huddersfield Town. McCombe has been at City since the summer of 2006 and played a key part in the promotion campaign. His last minute header at Doncaster on March 24th was one of the moments of the season. McCombe has struggled over the past year with injury. He was also part of one of the weirder moments at Ashton Gate infamously losing his contact lens leading to the Palace goal in the play-offs in 07/08. It was in that season that McCombe also produced a magical moment with his overhead kick goal against Hull City at Ashton Gate. A tall commanding centre half, Jamie will be a great addition to League One Huddersfield. His brother John McCombe has also player for The Terriers. Some fans questioned Jamie's ability and if he was Championship material due to a lack of pace, there would be hardly any arguments though that Jamie isn't a quality League One player.
Jamie McAllister and James Wilson Set To Miss Opening Day Of Training
City start pre-season training under Steve Coppell on Thursday. The 1st of July is traditionally the day training begins for league clubs in England. However at least 2 City players will not be fit enough to train. Left back Jamie McAllister is still struggling with the calf injury that saw him miss the end of the season. Young defender James Wilson will also be missing due to a knee injury. Christian Ribiero, who made a big impression in his end of season appearances may also miss out after suffering a slight back injury. McAllister and Wilson have been having rehabilitation throughout the summer so it is expected that they will be able to resume training themselves in the not to distant future. City's first friendly of the season will be on the Sweden tour when they take on the 13th of July when they take on IFK Gothenburg.
Possible Transfer Target Spotted At Ashton Gate

Bristol City are reportedly in talks with former Cardiff City youngster Aaron Morris. A supporter who was at the club on Friday morning, claims to have seen the player at Ashton Gate. Morris is 20 years old, 6 foot tall and is a defender, who can play on either flank. Morris spent last season at Newport County on loan making 7 appearances before being released by The Bluebirds. It would be quite a gamble if true however as Morris only made 2 appearances for Cardiff 1 in the league and 1 in the Carling Cup since 2007. However Steve Coppell is notoriously good in the transfer market so it will be interesting to see how this one develops.

Southend Date And Prices Agreed
The date for City's trip to Roots Hall to play Southend in the Carling Cup has been announced. The first round tie will be played on Tuesday August 10th kicking off at 7:45 PM, 3 days after the Championship opener against Millwall at Ashton Gate. Ticket prices have also been announced with adults paying £12, concessions £6 and under-7's paying just £1 for admission. It will be Steve Coppell's first cup game in charge of City.
